Sources from the Department of National Security in Rabat told "Arabs Today" that the bodyguard of the King, Brigadier Salim Abdullah Al-Saidi, died at the Ibn Sina Hospital on Tuesday night from gunshot wounds that he sustained in Rabat last week. The same sources said that the King's bodyguard was wounded after chasing two unidentified men, who were said to be thieves that he had chased through the centre of the capital Rabat. The source said, "The general administration of National Security has been able to identify descriptions of the second thief who managed to escape, and it has issued a national search warrant for the criminals.” A source also reported that al-Saidi, who was shot in the stomach, received intensive treatment from the senior surgeon at Ibn Sina Hopital. An official from the hospital stated that the side effects of the injuries were fatal, and that damage done to internal organs caused the death of the security guard.
