Morrocan security forces have been duped by a call to protest in Rabat. An event calling for protests in the capital led to a heavy security presence on Sunday, but the demonstators failed to show up. The call for protest was made on Facebook, with demonstrations planned in al-Had, Door, Hassan II and Mohammed V streets. Security forces were deployed on the streets early on Sunday morning to deal with any potential trouble. However, sources told Arabstoday that no one answered the call. Sources added that the "20 February" protest movement, which was expected to join the demonstrations, is banned, and members would have been arrested if they had taken part. Meanwhile, a handful of unemployed people held a small protest outside the Moroccan parliament. The protest was announced at the end of last week and is expected to last until Tuesday.
