eposed president Mohamed Morsi has been moved from his detention cell at Alexandria’s Borg El-Arab Prison to a single-occupancy cell two days ago, a high-level security source said. Morsi’s new cell is 16 square meters wide and has a separate bathroom, a bed, a small fridge and a television and is located within the vicinity of the prison hospital away from other inmates’ cells, especially dangerous criminals, the source told MENA on Thursday. Assistant Interior Minister for Prison Affairs Mohamed Rateb has personally supervised the transfer process under tight security and absolute secrecy, the source added. Rateb visits the Borg El-Arab Prison three times weekly to check on security measures taken to protect the ousted president, the source noted, adding that the he (Rateb) had given strict orders to ban any dangerous inmates from approaching his cell.
