Muslim World League (MWL) expressed deep concern for the issuance of the US Congress of a legislation known as: "Justice law against sponsors of terrorism", as it clearly and frankly contravenes with the UN Charter and the principles of international law; and as such act is contrary to the basis of international relations based on the principles of equal sovereignty, immunity of the state, mutual respect and non imposition of domestic laws of any state on the other states.
MWL Secretary Dr. Mohammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, asserted that the issuance of such a law would threaten the stability of the international system, casts doubt on international transactions, in addition to what it may bring of global economic damage, and will have many negative consequences, as it would set a dangerous precedent, in relations among nations.
Al-Issa expressed hope that US legislative authorities would not approve the act, as it will open the floodgates for other countries, for the issuance of similar laws, which would negatively affect the international efforts to fight terrorism, without prejudice to a grave breach of established international principles, based on the basis of sovereign equality and immunity of the states, as a settled work norms in all international transactions, since the United Nations was founded.
