
A New Zealand teacher and a British man have been found dead with gunshot wounds in western Libya, security sources said. A Libyan security source said in a statement, the Briton and a New Zealand woman were found with gunshot wounds in Mellitah near the town of Zuwarah, 60 miles (100km) west of Tripoli, According to the BBC. A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: "We are aware of reports that the bodies of two foreign nationals have been found in Libya and urgently seeking further information from the authorities." Reports have suggested that the two people were both teachers and they were found next to their luggage. Their belongings were apparently untouched and the motive for the killings remains unclear. The area is home to a large oil and gas complex co-owned by Italian company ENI. The State Department and Britain's Foreign Office both said they were looking into the matter. Last Friday, four American military personnel were detained by the Libyan government and released after several hours in custody, US and Libyan officials said. Source: QNA
