An Israeli radio station said senior members of the government had previously informed the Palestinian Authority (PA), led by President Mahmoud Abbas, of its decision to build 1200 settler units in occupied Jerusalem. It added the homes were to be built in Israeli controlled territory. The station quoted a source saying, “There is ?a difference between what the Palestinians say officially through media means and what they say ?over the negotiation table”.? It added any future settlement blocs would remain under Israeli control in any future peace negotiations. The source said, “The international community is aware of the Israeli position”, in regards to settlement activity, “therefore it is ?not clear why the Palestinians are threatening to boycott the negotiations”.
