A Palestinian from Khan Younis has died while working in the Rafah-area tunnels connecting the Gaza Strip and Egypt. He was electrocuted. Media sources have reported that the young man, 16-year-old Mohammed Khalil Erbie, was electrocuted and died while taking part in a smuggling operation in one of the illegal tunnels. According to official figures, more than 300 people have been killed while working in the tunnels, with electrocution and roof collapses being the top causes. Egyptian authorities had flooded some tunnels a few days ago in a bid to shut down smuggling operations.
