The Palestinian Ministry of National Economy has denied it provided the Israeli clothes company Fox Wizel Ltd with a license to operate in the Palestinian territories. The Palestinian Authority faced an outcry from boycott Israel campaigners when a billboard belonging to the chain appeared in Ramallah, West Bank. Hatem Sarhan, an official at the ministry, said that Fox Wizel had not been registered as a foreign company intending to work in Palestine. The ministry official responsible for registering trademarks, Ali Zokan, added that it had refused to register any trademark belonging to the company, and said the matter has been referred to the Supreme Court of Justice. The Palestinian ministry emphasised that it is working hard to increase investment to strengthen the Palestinian economy, and called on the media to consider the interests of the country when publishing news.
