Hundreds of scouts toured city streets in Palestine to highlight cooperation between Muslim and Christians on the festival of Eid-al-Adha. Around 500 scouts from Ramallah and Bireh participated in a scouting show, which travelled through the streets of both cities celebrating the muslim festival. Representatives form the girl scouts delegation and the governorate scouts and Muslim and Christian religious leaders were in attendance. The show started in front of the al-Amary Youth Centre and headed towards al-Manara square, before finishing at a scout base in an Islamic club in Ramallah. Governor of Ramallah and Bireh Dr Laila Ghannam, who led the show, congratulated those involved. She said: “I hope this occasion returns on our people with the achievement of our hopes in establishing an independent state, with the capital Jerusalem.” “The scouting show is a symbol of fraternity between Muslims and Christians, which confirms the unity of our people.”
