Palestinian refugees are protesting for the eighth consecutive day in front of the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), condemning the lack of food they have received. Moein Bashour, Public Coordinator of the Civil Campaign for Supporting Palestine and Iraq, admitted that the Palestinian refugees also demanding legal rights within Lebanon. Bashour called on the UNRWA to “intensify their efforts in meeting the needs of displaced Palestinians and Syrians.” Many Palestinian refugees say they feel “forgotten” and have criticised the UNRWA for favouring Syrian refugees in the provision of food and other essentials over the long suffering Palestinian community in Lebanon. Bashour has also urged the UNRWA to “keep the distribution of aid humanitarian by not making it political.” Meanwhile, Lebanese security forces have today announced the death of Syrian national Ali Fayez el-Dayekh, who died in Dar el-Amal Hospital in Beirut, after being transferred across the Syrian border to receive treatment.
