The Moroccan Centre of Common Memory for Democracy and Peace delivered an open message to Moroccon PM Abdelilah Benkirane and his Spanish counterpart Mariano Rajoy. Both were invited to solve the past problems between both countries, starting with the present elements. The aim was to look forward to the future and try to find a solution to the political, human rights, economic and social residues. The message, which Arabstoday got a copy of, demanded both PMs to "give a new identity and soul to the common lake; to make it a lake of peace and a renewable school for practicing democracy” inviting both parties to react with The Moroccan Center of Common Memory for Democracy and Peace. The message also called for establishing "an independent committee for finding truth and justice, consisting of Spanish and Moroccan experts — including historians, legal specialists, human right specialists, physicians and socialists in order to form a systematic action plan to solve the past effects.”
