Dozens of Syrians and Muslim Brotherhood supporters gathered in front of the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, Egypt on Saturday to protest the Russian backing of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The demonstrators also condemned the Iranian interference in Syrian affairs and its support for the current ruling regime. Some protesters were heard chanting anti-Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi slogans - angering activists belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood. The demonstrators united to urge all Arab countries to object the Iranian and Russian intervention in Syria and support the opposition groups in their fight to topple al-Assad. The rally was also held to force Morsi to hold talks with al-Assad to convince him to step down.
