Settlers raise Israeli flag over al-Haram al-Ibrahimi

A group of Israeli settlers on Tuesday ascended the walls and rooftop of Al-Haram al-Ibrahimi (the Sanctuary of Abraham) in al-Khalil (Hebron) to raise the Israeli flag.

The Palestinian reconstruction committee in al-Khalil condemned the act in a press release on Tuesday, saying, it is a step of the ongoing Israeli attempts to Judaize the Mosque.

The Israeli occupation forces continue measures to annex the holy place to the its list of Jewish heritage sites.

The committee slammed the flag-raising as a provocative act that insults the Muslim world in general and the Palestinians in particular.

Al-Ibrahimi Mosque is located in the old city of Al-Khalil, few hundred meters away from the part of the city which is illegally occupied by Israeli extremist settlers.
