Mahmoud al Sobeihi, the defense minister of the resigned Yemeni government, has resumed his duties from Aden in the south of the country.
Sobeihi inspected a military camp in Khour Maksar area.
The minister followed up combat preparations and held an in-camera meeting with leaders at the camp, a military source told Aden al Ghad newspaper Monday.
Sobeihi had successfully escaped from Shiite-controlled Sanaa to Aden, where he will help form a military force to defend southern governorates.
He had been placed under house arrest by the Houthis who seized Sanaa on February 6.
