Soldier killed, another injured in east Yemen

A Yemeni soldier was killed and another injured in an attack that targeted a military patrol in the eastern Yemeni province of Hadhramaut. A security source in the province said in a statement today that unidentified militants attacked by machineguns a military patrol carrying salaries of a number of army soldiers in Tarim killing a soldier and wounding another. After the attack the militants looted the soldiers’ salaries and fled to an unknown destination, the source said noting that security organs started investigation into the incident to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice. Recently, the province of Hadhramaut has been the scene of fierce attacks by militants accused by the security authorities of affiliation to Al Qaeda organization. The attacks mainly targeted security and military checkpoints and stations. Source: QNA
