
All entrances and exits of South Sinai were fully secured and more checkpoints were set up to arrest any saboteur, said deputy security chief Mahmoud Sami.
All under-construction buildings in the governorate were combed and all workers with criminal records or having no national ID cards were bused out of the governorate as part of security preparations for Egypt Economic Development Conference, to start in Sharm el Shreikh on Friday.
There is full coordination between the army and police to secure participating delegations in the conference, he added.
Everything is under control, he said, stressing that all mountainous roads and valleys in the governorate were secured.
Around 300 workers with no official papers were deported from Sharm el Sheikh as part of the security plan of the conference.
