
South Sudan\'s President Salva Kiir is planning a visit to Khartoum later this month to hold talks with Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir. The foreign minister in Juba, Barnabas Benjamin, arrived in Sudan on Saturday to lay the foundations for Kiir\'s trip. Sudanese newspaper Raai-al-aam said that President Kiir would discuss the cooperation agreement between the two countries, along with a number of security issues. According to Benjamin, South Sudan\'s foreign ministry seeks to promote the establishment of a permanent, bilateral relationship based on the historic relations and common interests between the two countries.
