The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) have claimed to have faced Southern military infiltrators aka the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA), who attacked Al-Taboun town in the Blue Nile State. According to Sudan News Agency (SUNA), the SAF statement said that SPLA forces have fled leaving behind their weapons, ammunition, and a number of dead and wounded. The SAF managed to arrest one member of the SPLA. The statement also referred to repeated infiltration by the SPLA into Sudanese territory across different parts of the border in order to loot people's property, intimidate locals, and create a state of instability. The statement confirmed that, it will launch an investigation and interrogate the arrested SPLA member. The statement stressed that Sudan is "honestly looking forward a good relationship with the State of South Sudan, which will come only when SPLA is prohibited to repeat what happened." In the end, the statement stressed that the Armed Forces were committed to continue its march and face the SPLA.
