The official spokesman for the Sudanese Armed Forces [SAF], Colonel al-Sawarmi Khaled Saad announced that the SAF raided the Baldaku area, south of the Blue Nile state, 35 kilometres away from the area of Danderou. According to the statement, the SAF entered the area after an attack which caused militants belonging to the Sudan People's Liberation Movement - Northern Sector [SPLM-N] to flee the area, leaving behind their weapons and other equipment, which the SAF recovered. The armed forces then conducted a large-scale combing campaign in the area. The SPLM-N has been spearheading a conflict with the Sudanese government in the Blue Nile, led by the movement's leader, Malik Agar since 2011.
