A medical report issued by the American University of Beirut, on Wednesday confirmed rumours that the Syrian Interior Minister Gen. Mohammed al-Shaar, has been admitted to American University Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries suffered in the bombing of his ministry last week. Sources have told Arabstoday that al-Shaar suffered multiple serious injuries and concussion following the bomb attack on the Interior Ministry building, which killed the Damascus operations commander and dozens of military officers. A Lebanese security source has revealed that more than 60 internal security forces were deployed around the American University Hospital, after reports that Syrian dissidents may demonstrate in front of the hospital.
