The Syrian opposition rebels have advanced towards Abu al-Duhur military airport, the last army base controlled by the regime forces in Idlib, western Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said on Friday.
The opposition fighters have launched on Thursday evening a strong attack against the military base, besieged for more than two years, head of SOHR Rami Abdulrahman said.
The fighters seized several outposts around, he added.
Militants of the so-called Fatah Army launched a failed assault against the Abu al-Duhur military airport three days ago, where 10 fighters were killed.
