
Tunisia\'s Minister of Defence, Rashid el-Sabagh, has called for the development of an organisation for intelligence and information, stressing the need for creating an authority for national security. The Tunisian official signalled the need to pave way for dealing with the current sensitive transitional phase. He stressed the need to increase cooperation with neighbouring states to secure border areas. Sabagh affirmed that these initiatives aim to \"support the position of the military institution\" and \"increase its credibility in the community.\" The Tunisian minister recently met with his American counterpart to discuss military cooperation between the two countries.
