Tunisian opposition boycotts parliament

Opposition blocs have decided to boycott the Tunisian Constituent Assembly for three days from Thursday, in solidarity with the General Union of Tunisian Workers - the biggest trade union in the country. This follows the attack on its headquarters and a number of its leaders on Tuesday evening. Mahmoud Baroudi, the MP of the democratic bloc added that “the opposition bloc will donate their three days of salary to the state’s budget”.
