UAE, US Iron Magic 18 military exercise continues

The joint 'Iron Magic 18' military exercise between the UAE Armed Forces and the US forces continued in the UAE.

It is part of the joint military exercises conducted by the UAE Armed Forces throughout the year with the forces of fraternal and friendly countries in order to raise combat efficiency, gain more field expertise, and work to unify military concepts and terminologies between the participating parties.

The military exercise, which comes within the framework of the joint military co-operation agreements between the UAE and the United States, aims to strengthen co-operation, joint work and exchange of expertise in the military fields. This would contribute to raising the military combat capability and increasing co-ordination between the UAE Armed Forces and the US counterpart.

The Commander of the UAE Armed Forces taking part in the exercise said he was pleased with the levels of operational readiness shown during the exercise.

"The Iron Magic 18 aims to enhance cooperation and to exchange expertise between the UAE and United States in military fields in a way that will contribute to upgrading defensive efficiency in the areas of joint military operations," he added.

The exercise entails training in the planning and execution of combat operations, planning, implementation and support of maritime landings, attacks on built-up areas, ideal joint use of various weapons, live ammunition training and internal security training activities.
