At least three al-Qaeda militants were killed Sunday, in Yemen’s Lahj governorate, while security services said that another was arrested in al-Bayda. United Press International UPI quoted a security source as saying that the three al-Qaeda members were killed by armed forces, after attaching a military barrier. Yemen ministry of defence has not yet issued any statement. According to the same source, Yemen’s counter-terrorism forces supported the army in tracking down al-Qaeda members, where they clashed in violent confrontations. The source pointed out that there were injuries among the security forces troops. Yemen’s interior ministry said on its official website that the arrested al-Qaeda member in al-Bayda was accused of attempting to plant a bomb on the road of the traffic police director’s house.
