Yemeni militant gets life in prison for police shooting

An armed militant involved in a shooting in a police station in Al Arish was sentenced to life in prison, security sources said. The defendant Ali Ahmad Alam al-Hafni was involved in the killing of a policeman in a second attack on a police station in Al Arish last year. He was arrested in an apartment in Al Arish. Al-Hafni was ambushed in the residential area once information was received on his whereabouts, sources said.
