Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi has decided to withdraw his resignation to continue to serve the country, a president advisor told Xinhua on Sunday.
A presidential advisor, requesting anonymity, told Xinhua that Hadi made his decision to withdraw the resignation based on the international efforts led by United Nations envoy Jamal Bin Omar, as well as representatives of the political parties in the country.
Hadi has six advisors who are among the country's decision-making body, including one from the Shiite Houthi group.
However, a government spokesman told Xinhua that there is no official announcement about Hadi's decision.
Domestic and international efforts are still underway to convince the president to withdraw his resignation, the spokesman said on condition anonymity.
Hadi on Thursday night submitted his resignation to the parliament amid standoff with the Shiite Houthi group who control the capital. Yemeni Prime Minister Khaled Bahah and his cabinet also presented resignation to the president on the same day.
Yemen's official Saba news agency reported Sunday that the Yemeni parliament has postponed an emergency session, which was expected to vote on the president's resignation.
The meeting was delayed until "another date to be set later" in order to have more time to "inform all members of the parliament to attend," Saba reported.
The parliament said earlier in a brief statement that it would hold an emergency session on Friday which was then postponed to Sunday.
