
One man was killed and 22 others were injured during clashes between army supporters and Muslim Brotherhood members and Islamists in Fayoum, southwest of Cairo. Three of the injured are in an extremely critical condition suffering from severe stabs and concussions, said director of Fayoum hospital Medhat Shukri. All injured persons are kept under heavy guard fearing retaliatory attacks, Shukri said. Meanwhile, police arrested six persons in connection to the clashes that erupted near the Coptic Orthodox Archbishopric area in Fayoum.
