Ten Israeli soldiers have been accused of severely beating a subordinate during a hazing episode, officials said. The accused sat in front of a military judge for a remand hearing Sunday, Ynetnews.com reported. At the hearing, prosecutors said the suspects \"hit the soldier with \'superman\' blows, which are considered especially strong. In between the beatings, the soldier collapsed, and then they lifted him up, hugged him and gave him an iPhone pouch as a gift.\" The victim was apparently being beaten as punishment for \"daring\" to touch the \"seniority stick\" -- a bar that indicates a soldier\'s seniority -- prosecutors said. He was beaten so severely his spleen ruptured, prosecutors said. During an initial investigation into the attack, the suspects revealed they were involved in other hazing incidents, Ynetnews said. The hazings were \"done in good spirit and with no one complaining,\" one of the accused said, adding even commanders took beatings from them.
