11 tons of humanitarian aid arrive in Lattakia Airport

A Russian airplane loaded with 11 tons of humanitarian aid on Tuesday arrived in Bassel al-Assad International Airport in Lattakia province. Director of the Consular Department at the Russian Embassy in Damascus told SANA reporter that this batch of Russian aid, which is the fifth one, contains 10 tons of food materials, in addition to quantities of covers, offered by the Russian people to the Syrian people. He stressed that the provision of aid will continue in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the Russian government. For his part, the Aid official at the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry, Sergei Bogdanov, told journalists that this aid offered by the Russian government and people come in support of the Syrian people. He said that his country supports peace in Syria and that the Syrian people will achieve this peace through the dialogue process. In turn, Secretary of Lattakia branch of the Baath Arab Socialist Party and Governor of Lattakia offered thanks to the Russian government and people for this aid particularly under these circumstances and in light of the organized terrorism facing Syria. Russia sent last month 45 tons of humanitarian aid to Syria in two planes which landed in Bassel al-Assad International Airport.
