
Governor\'s office of northwestern Canakkale province on Wednesday said search and rescue teams rescued 12 people and found the bodies of 24 others after a boat capsized in international waters of the Aegean Sea early on Wednesday. A speed boat carrying illegal migrants was capsized at 02.05 a.m. Wednesday 7 miles offshore from Gulpinar village of Canakkale, a writen statement released by the office said. Coast guards have rescued 12 people and the bodies of 24 others as of 12.30 p.m. and search and rescue efforts were still under way with the help of 4 boats, planes and helicopters, the statement also said.
