127 killed in bomb blasts in Pakistan in July

At least 127 people were killed and 410 others injured in 27 bomb blasts including six suicide attacks across Pakistan in July, according to official data. The data revealed the suicide bomb attacks left 90 people dead and 271 others injured. After taking back promise to start peace talks with Pakistan\'s new government of prime minister Nawaz Sharif, the banned militant group of Pakistani Taliban stepped up their attacks on civilians as well as officials. Civilians were the direct target of at least 20 militant bomb attacks that killed 112 people and injured 347 others. Pakistani government officials, security personnel and police came under attack for seven times directly in which 15 people lost their lives and 63 others sustained injuries. The deadliest attack took place on July 26 when a suicide bomber targetted people near a mosque in Parachinar district of the northwestern tribal region of Kurram Agency followed by a remote-control bomb explosion in the same area, killing 57 and injuring 187 others. On July 24, a series of blasts rocked southern district of Sukkur as militants rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a regional headquarters of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) followed by two suicide explosion, killing at least seven people and wounding over 40 while four attackers were also killed. Pakistan\'s northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the worst hit province with eight attacks followed by seven blasts each in Sindh and northwestern tribal regions while four bomb attacks took place in southwestern province of Balochistan. Militant carried out four direct attacks on security forces in July, killing 14 and injuring 52 others. Most of the attacks were claimed by Pakistani Taliban. Pakistan\'s newly elected government led by Nawaz Sharif called for an All Parties Conference on security issues on July 12 in Islamabad but later it was postponed for undisclosed reason.
