The general traffic directorate at Dubai Police has announced plans to install 176 new radars throughout the emirate by 2014 as part of its attempt to reduce casualties to zero by 2020.Brigadier-general Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, the head of the traffic department, told Al Ittihad newspaper that the location of the new state-of-the-art radars would be decided after studying accident and violation trends. He also said speed limits on Dubai roads were being reviewed. Mr Al Zafeen said the traffic department would also introduce a regulatory unit to seize cars with modified licence plates. The traffic department head urged motorists to drive safely and to observe speed limits.from the national.
