Two people were killed and nine others wounded in separate bomb attacks in northern and central Iraq on Saturday, the police said. In Iraq\'s northern province of Kirkuk, a roadside bomb went off near a police patrol in the city of Hawijah, some 200 km north of the capital of Baghdad, killing two policemen and injuring four others, a local police source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. Also in the province, a civilian was wounded when a sticky bomb attached to his car detonated in the provincial capital of Kirkuk city, some 250 km north of Baghdad, the source added. Near Baghdad, a roadside bomb struck a train locomotive near the city of Dujail, some 60 km north of the capital, wounding the train driver, a local police source anonymously told Xinhua. In another incident, a roadside bomb exploded near a group of construction workers in the town of Garmah some 50 km west of Baghdad, injuring three workers, a local police source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. Violence is still common in the Iraqi cities despite the dramatic decrease since its peak in 2006 and 2007 when the country was engulfed in sectarian killings.
