Two Iraqi soldiers were seriously injured today in a bomb explosion in Al-Ishaqi area in Salahuddin province in northern Iraq. Security sources said unidentified persons blew up an explosive device on the side of the road targeting an army patrol, seriously wounding two members of the patrol. A member of the Municipal Council in Al-Islah area, east of Nasiriyah, was killed An official source said municipal council member Mohammed Salim Karim wasstabbed to death at dawn in front of a mosque near his home in a tribal a dispute over an agricultural land. Meanwhile the Secretary-General of the Iraqi people alliance Abbas Muhammadawi escaped an assassination attempt after he left his home in the neighborhood of Al-Kafaat, west of Baghdad. Muhammadawi said told reporters that he survived an attempt on his life by gunmen who opened automatic weapons fire at his car, seriously injuring one of his bodyguards. In northern Iraq a woman was injured in the neighborhood of Chamchamal, east of Kirkuk in an indiscriminate shooting spree. Police said a person opened a Kalashnikov machine gun fire in one of the area\'\'s neighborhoods injuring the women who is now in a serious condition. On the other hand cast the swift response forces in Diyala province, northeast of Baghdad arrested three armed cells in security operations carried out in several areas in the province over the past two days. Police said the three cells were planning to carry out armed attacks targeting sensitive security institutions and local departments in the governorate. They explained that the armed cells were composed of persons belonging to the League of the Righteous in Muqdadiya and organizations of the Islamic State of Iraq, north-east of Baghdad.(
