
Police said they arrested 54 demonstrators outside a Los Angeles Walmart who were protesting unfair wages and benefits. More than 200 people took part in the protest against the company, KNBC-TV, Los Angeles reported. The protest was set to close down Cesar Chavez Avenue between Broadway and Figueroa Street from 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. But at 6:30 p..m., dozens of protesters sat down on Cesar Chavez and refused to move, so the street remain closed. Police arrested the 54 demonstrators and the road was reopened at 8 p.m.
