India has secured the release of 28 of its sailors on two ships held by Somali pirates. The freed men will return to the country soon, a news report said Saturday. \"Yesterday ... 28 Indian sailors in two ships, Royal Grace and Smyrni, were freed,\" Indian shipping minister GK Vasan was quoted by the IANS news agency as saying. \"They will come back here and join their families in a few days,\" Indian shipping minister GK Vasan told reporters. According to dpa, Vasan did not disclose details about how the sailors were freed or whether ransoms had been paid. He said New Delhi had handled the matter \"in a very discreet way.\"
