
Investigators have identified three attackers on a police station in Russia’s North Caucasian Stavropol region on Monday morning, TASS quoted sources in the Russian Investigative Committee as saying on Monday
"Thanks to prompt cooperation of investigators of the Russian Investigative Committee and operatives of the regional police and Federal Security Service (FSB) departments the three men who staged today's attack on the administrative police building of the Novoselitsky district and later blew themselves up have been identified. They are persons with previous convictions, including for murder, residents of the Kitayevskoye settlement of the Novoselitsky district: Zaur Akayev, born in 1983, Ramazan Khaibulayev, born in 1991 and Isai Abdulatipov, born in 1996," the Investigative Committee said.
ccording to investigators, at around 10:00 am on Monday, Akayev, Khaibulayev and Abdulatipov tried to penetrate into the administrative building of the Novoselitsky district police department during which they exploded grenades. Policemen opened fire on them and the attackers blew themselves up. The explosions damaged the police station building and cars parked nearby. There have been no reports about casualties.
The criminal case over the attack (attempt on the life of law enforcement officers) has been opened by the Investigative Committee’s investigation bodies for the Stavropol region.
