Authorities in Norway seized more than 300 pounds of cocaine found hidden inside crates of bananas, officials said. The drugs arrived Dec. 10 in a shipment of bananas from Ecuador, TheLocal.no reported Monday. The value of the cocaine was estimated at $8 million. "It's enormous. This single seizure is as big as everything customs has seized in the last three years put together," Bjorn Rose, director of Norway's Customs and Excise authority, told Norway's Dagbladet newspaper. Police said the bananas and drugs were loaded in Ecuador. Bama, the Norwegian company that imported the fruit, and the company that transported it were likely unaware the drugs were in the shipment, police said.
