The UN refugee agency UNHCR has recently finished off the building of 700 tented facilities on the outskirts of the border city of Mafraq, North eastern Jordan to house Syrian refugees. A number of 12 truckloads of refugees' basic needs and supplies were transported from the agency's regional stock stores to the site of the refugees camp, to be ready for any immediate influx of refugees, UNHCR representative in Jordan, Andrew Harper said. Meanwhile, UNHCR Spokesperson Ali Bibi said the first phase of the camp, having a capacity to host 3,000 to 5,000 refugees, will be completed in less than two days. The camp could host a total of 113,000 refugees, he said. Jordan is currently hosting over 135,000 refugees from Syria, a number considered far less than the Syrian population in Jordan.
