8 injured in Bulgaria\'s anti-government protests

Eight people were injured in a clash between anti-government protesters and ultra-nationalist opposition party ATAKA supporters in Bulgarian capital, Sofia on Tuesday. A group demanding resignation of Plamen Oresarski government marched towards ATAKA party building and shouted slogans against ATAKA\'s leader Volen Siderov, on the grounds that he provided support to the coalition government composed of Socialist Party and Rights and Freedom Movement. In response, ATAKA organized a rally in the area. Siderov made a long speech and his supporters around 200 challenged the protesters. The rally later paved the way for the violent clashes as the sides attacked each other by stones and glass bottles. While police arrested one person, Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandikova announced ATAKA rally as unlawful. Protests against the new-socialist led government have been going for four days in Sofia.
