Abbas grants Paris mayor honorary citizenship

President Mahmoud Abbas Wednesday granted visiting Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoë the Palestinian honorary citizenship in appreciation for his role in consolidating relations of friendship and cooperation between the Palestinian and French people and for his courageous role in supporting peace in the Middle East and the political and cultural aspirations of the Palestinian people. Abbas briefed the Paris mayor on the latest political developments and efforts to salvage the peace process, particularly on United States efforts to restart negotiations. He also thanked him for his support for signing agreements with the cities of Ramallah and Bethlehem.
