Abbas said in his personal account on the social network, Face Book, that \"later today I will give a speech at the General Assembly of the United Nations and I know that this request will be supported. \"We insist, despite all pressures and threats we are facing, on achieving recognition of Palestine as a member in the General Assembly of the United Nations.\" He also noted that he has been receiving daily threats against him personally and his country for seeking such recognition. \"I am waging a diplomatic and legal war on Israel and I am seeking to isolate it on the international arena,\" he wrote.
