
Foreign Minister Abu Baker al-Qirbi met here on Sunday with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Arabian Peninsula Affairs Barbara Leaf. During the meeting, they discussed a number of regional and international issues of common interest. Al-Qirbi praised all efforts have been made by brotherly and friendly countries to help Yemen make its political process successful. He also stressed the importance of focusing on economy and security to meet the current challenges which will reflect positively on citizens and the country’s security and stability. The Foreign Minister pointed out that the determination of Yemenis have demonstrated their ability to overcome their disagreements and rely on dialogue, adding the success of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) was made through the sense of responsibility by all political and civil actors in the country. For her part, the US official congratulated the Yemeni leadership, people and government on the conclusion of the NDC, which was an important step in Yemen’s political process.
