
The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has held a workshop focused on the risk management of municipal assets as part of a series of specialist workshops aimed at mapping out the key pillars of the Municipality’s plan for addressing all types of potential risks associated with the infrastructure and municipal asset projects.
Under this context, the Municipality is launching a series of educative workshops in a bid to realize the municipal system’s vision calling for protecting municipal assets, and implementing top-class standards and guarantees contributing to the protection and investment of these assets in accordance with the standards & requirements of sustainable development.
Through these awareness programs and specialist workshops, the ADM is aiming to ensure the readiness of asset operation and maintenance teams in the Municipality. Topics featured in these workshops including identifying and assessing risks, and coping with risks & drawing up the plan.
The risk management workshop aimed at identifying the emerging and potential risks, and integrating them in the risk management plan, besides assessing the current situation of risk management strategies, highlighting the shortcomings of practical practices relating to the testing and assessing of risks, and the effective planning of high-level risks according to a specific and effective strategy.
Due to their massive nature and strategic importance, these projects are associated with all sorts of risks, especially those within the city as they require a risk management plan that identifies these risks and assesses their scope and impact on the project in terms of time, cost and quality. Next follows remedial actions to address these risks and their potential impacts, besides setting out a procedure for monitoring these procedures at the present and long terms.
