
Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority, ADWEA, and its group of companies, signed two separate Memoranda of Understanding, MoUs, with the Power Grid Corporation of India, POWERGRID, and the National Power Training Institute, NPTI, India, during the recent visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to India.
The MoUs were signed by Saeed Al Suwaidi, Managing Director, Abu Dhabi Distribution Co., ADDC, on behalf of ADWE, Shri Anil Mehra, Executive Director - International Business, POWERGRID, and Prof. R. K Pandey, Director General, NTPI, in the presence of senior officials from both sides.
The first MoU envisages cooperation between the ADWEA group of companies and POWERGRID to work in areas like smart grid, transmission technology and providing capability development and training in the field of operation and maintenance, O&M, asset management, project management, power transmission and distribution, etc.. POWERGRID will also assist ADWEA in setting up an advanced world class capability development institute in the UAE.
The second agreement envisages cooperation between ADWEA group and NPTI, an ISO 9001and 14001 organisation under the Ministry of Power, Government of India
