
A delegation of the Afghan high peace council members left for Saudi Arabia on Saturday, to attend the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit, http://www.khaama.com/ reported. Afghan officials have said that the delegation will hold talks on Afghan peace process during their visit to Saudi Arabia, in a bid to attract the support of Islamic nations for Afghanistan peace and stability. Shahzada Shahid, spokesman for the Aghan high peace council said Qeyamuddin Kashaf, member of the Afghan high peace council and head of the Afghanistan Ulema (Clerics) council, is leading the six-member delegation during visit to Saudi Arabia. Shahid further added that meeting with the Taliban group representatives is not part of the agenda of Afghan high peace council members, but the delegation is prepared to hold talks with the Taliban representatives in Saudi Arabia, if they requested for a meeting. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was inaugurated in 1969, and the main motive of the organization is to create coordination and cooperation among the Islamic states. The OIC meeting in Saudi Arabia will continue for four to five days. In the meantime, Shahid said that the government of Afghanistan will not have any problem regarding the opening of Taliban office in Saudi Arabia, Turkey or United Arab Emirates. He said the governments of Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia are negotiating the opening of Taliban office in Saudi Arabia, Turkey or United Arab Emirates, however no achievement has been made in this regard so far.
