
Afghan President Hamid Karzai left for South Africa on Monday to attend the memorial service of late Nelson Mandela, a statement released by Presidential Palace here said. "President Hamid Karzai left this noon for Johannesburg city of South Africa to pay respect and attend the memorial service for Nelson Mandela, former president and anti-apartheid leader of South Africa," the statement added. Afghan president will join other heads of states and governments to gather at a South African national memorial service to be held on Tuesday in honor of late Mandela at Johannesburg's largest stadium, the statement further said.
