Afghan president to attend inauguration of Iranian president-elect

Afghan President Hamid Karzai will leave on Aug. 4 for Iran\'s Capital Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran\'s President-elect Hasan Rohani, said a statement issued by the Afghan Foreign Ministry. According to the statement, the Afghan government sees Iran as a neighboring country of brotherhood linked by the same language and cultures. Moreover, the bilateral ties of both nations have been benefited from decade-long economic and trade cooperation. The Afghan president\'s visit will be accompanied by Zalmai Rassoul, the foreign minister of the war-weary country.
