
The Ministry of Public Works has ambitious plans that would solve "many problems facing the citizen," a senior official said Monday. The ministry has 276 projects for 2012-13 with a value KD 8.782 billion (USD 31 billion), Abdulaziz Al-Kulaib, the ministry's Undersecretary, told a news conference. He said the ministry has 426 projects for 2013-14 with a cost of KD 9.135 billion (USD 32.27 billion. Al-Kulaib said the ministry was exerting efforts to solve the housing problem, noting that red tape was delaying the projects. On Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, Al-Kulaib said the project was being implemented according to schedule. He also said there were other mega projects like Jaber Bridge, Jabal Abdunnasser Street and Al-Jahra Street.
